V Rising is a popular game that feels like a mix between Valheim and Diablo. The game also comes with its own dedicated server tool so you can host your own PVE/PVP server.

The V Rising dedicated server is quite easy to setup, just follow the steps below.

Download SteamCMD
Create a SteamCMD directory (eg. c:\SteamCMD)
Unzip SteamCMD.exe to c:\SteamCMD
Open Notepad
Save the empty file by clicking File < Save as
Save the file as update.bat in c:\SteamCMD
Change file format to All files
Right click on update.bat and choose edit and paste the code below
@echo off steamcmd.exe +force_install_dir "C:\VRising" +login anonymous +app_update 1829350 validate +quit pause
You can modify the code above if you want the server installed somewhere else
Run update.bat to install the server and when you want to update the server
Go to c:\VRising or the install directory of your choosing
Right click on start_server_example.bat and choose edit
Modify the file to you liking (eg. server name)
Start the server by running the start_server_example.bat file
Go to C:\VRising\VRisingServer_Data\StreamingAssets\Settings
You can modify the server settings by editing the .JSON files with notepad or the editor of your choosing
